FORMER EMPLOYEE INDICTED IN OLD BAG OF NAILS ROBBERY

April 13, 2018 – A Delaware County Grand jury has returned a two-count indictment against 33-year-old Joseph Anthony Nappi of Delaware.

Charges come after a January 8, 2018 call to Delaware Police that a white male in a ski mask had robbed the Old Bag of Nails Restaurant on Sandusky Street.

The call came in just after 9 a.m.

“An employee reported the masked robber approached him inside the restaurant before the start of business and demanded cash as well as the employee’s keys,” said Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O’Brien. “The masked man, who was wielding an aluminum baseball bat, got away with $751 and the employee’s personal vehicle.”

The vehicle was later recovered three blocks away.

Nappi, a former Old Bag of Nails employee, is charged with one count of aggravated robbery – a first-degree felony, and one count of aggravated burglary – also a first-degree felony.

An arraignment hearing has not yet been set.
