ILLINOIS MAN INDICTED FOR STEALING PURSES AT POLARIS MALL

A Delaware County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against 21-year-old Devonte D. Holliday of Chicago, Illinois.

The indictment comes after Columbus Police responded to Polaris Mall on October 16, 2018 on the report of a shoplifter in custody.

“Saks Fifth Avenue security reported that three males entered the department store from inside the mall and headed to the purse section where at least two of the males began ripping Fendi and Gucci handbags from the display, breaking security locks to do so,” said Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O’Brien. “When confronted, the trio ran out of the department store and into the mall in order to exit with the stolen merchandise.”

Holliday was apprehended at the mall. He is charged with theft – a fourth-degree felony, and is being held in the Delaware County Jail where he awaits arraignment.
