MARION WOMAN INDICTED FOR FIFTH OVI OFFENSE

November 29, 2018 – A Delaware County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against 40-year-old Yolanda M. Reece, of Marion.

Law enforcement was alerted to a reckless driver in a white minivan November 23, 2018 in the area of US 23 and N. Sandusky Street in Delaware.

Deputies located the minivan and observed it making erratic movements within its lane of travel and nearly colliding with another vehicle before stopping in a parking lot.

“The driver was observed to be unsteady on her feet,” said Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O’Brien. “She also had a strong odor of alcohol about her person.”

Reece is charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs – a fourth-degree felony. An arraignment date is not yet set.

“The motorist who alerted authorities in this case may very well have saved a life,” O’Brien said. “Every day, and especially as we enter into the holiday season, if you observe a distracted or erratic driver, pull over and alert law enforcement.”
