March 11, 2025 – Today, Joshua Harper (20) of Westerville pleaded guilty to Murder, an unclassified felony.
Delaware County Common Pleas Court Judge James P. Schuck proceeded to sentence Harper immediately to a
mandatory sentence of life in prison with parole eligibility after 15 years.
In July of 2024, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call where an eyewitness reported
seeing Harper accelerate and intentionally strike the victim with his truck. Harper ran his truck over the victim
causing his death. Harper then fled the scene.
This case was prosecuted by Chief Criminal Prosecutor Mark Sleeper and Major Crimes Prosecutor Daniel
Cogley.
