February 13, 2020 – Ronald Milton Williams will spend the rest of his life behind bars, no possibility for parole.
A jury found Williams guilty of 16 counts of rape involving two juvenile victims after a four-day trial that ended on January 23, 2020. Williams was later found to be a sexual predator by Judge David Gormley.
“It is our duty to stand against criminals, but it is our honor to fight for justice for victims,” said Delaware County Prosecutor Melissa A. Schiffel. “This case ended with a just verdict, and these victims are no longer silenced by this predator.”
Williams, 55, was arrested by Delaware Police and indicted in July 2019. The resulting conviction was a joint effort by many people and agencies who came together for a common cause, to ensure that Williams be punished for his crimes and never have the opportunity to offend again.
“The brave victims in this case who came forward and confronted their predator in court, coupled with the thorough investigation of Delaware City Police Detective Sean Franks, made this conviction possible,” Schiffel said. “I’d like also to recognize the dedication of our Victim Advocate, Megan Powell, and Assistant Prosecutors Joel Walker and Hawken Flanagan, who worked tirelessly to achieve this verdict for not only the victims in this case, but sexual assault victims everywhere.”
